History

Our church is known within our fellowship of Baptist churches in BC as the flagship church in Vancouver. We began in an army hut on Victoria Drive in South Vancouver in the 1940s and over time this little group formally became Faith Baptist in 1957 after moving to a new location at 49th and Gladstone with Doug Harris as the founding pastor. Faith Fellowship Baptist has been in its current location at 49th and Elliott for 50 years.

Jack Taylor started pastoring at Faith in 1999 and felt led by God to be a church for all peoples and nations. Through his visionary leadership, Faith represents over 60 nations with a community being the love we have for Jesus Christ. New Hope Community Services Society (working with refugees) and New Hope Childcare began from Faith’s vision of reaching our community and becoming multi-cultural. During this time, we partnered with Vancouver Urban Ministries, South Vancouver Neighbourhood House, and other agencies to meet the needs of our community.

Jeremy MacDonald took over as lead pastor in 2022 with a passion for building off the rich legacy of visionary leadership. With an emphasis on leadership development and discipleship, we want to see young people activate their God-given potential and help develop deeply formed disciples of Jesus Christ who are vibrant in faith and deep in their convictions. In the most secular city in North America, Faith is committed to preaching the Word of God with courage and conviction while offering hope to a city and world filled with anxiety and fear.
